Tips for Furniture Shopping
November 6, 2017How to Remove Scratches from Your Furniture
January 9, 2018 No matter if your furniture is old or new, it can fall victim to many nuisances within the home. This includes family members or guests dropping food or spilling drinks on it, pet dander, dirt and debris, smoke stains, etc. One of the worst case scenarios is having furniture that looks like the life has been drained out of it. In addition to purchasing stain removers and steam cleaners for your furniture, there are three easy ways to help bring the life back to your beloved furniture.
1. Fluff the cushions. This helps cushions maintain shape and comfort. Fluff them on a regular basis, much like you would the pillows you sleep upon.
2. Flip the cushions. This should be done every two weeks so one side isn’t affected more by wear and tear than the other. This also helps maintain cushion shape. If you have cushions that are located inside of a cover, unzip, remove the cushion, and flip it over before placing back in the cover.
3. Maintain your cleaning routine. Vacuum often, especially if you have indoor pets. Wash covers when needed, especially if any spills or stains have occurred. Use fabric spray to keep the piece smelling fresh and clean. You can also invest in a cover, that way if something is spilled or tracked onto the couch, all you have to do is remove the cover and wash it.
