Summertime Decorating Tips
May 1, 2018How to Mix and Match Wood Toned Furniture
August 8, 2018If your bedroom has become tight in the amount of space available, the resolution could be as simple as rearranging the furniture in the room. Here are some tips to try if you’re looking to add more space in the bedroom.
- Move your bed to the center of the room’s most visible wall. This way, you can easily access your bed from both sides. You may even have enough room to add nightstands on one or both sides.
- Move your dresser inside of your closet. This is, of course, only possible if your closet is big enough. Larger pieces of furniture can make small rooms look even smaller. By moving pieces into the closet space, you’ll have more floor space, all of your clothes will be in one place, and the room will open up (appearing larger than it is).
- Move your rug to 2/3 under your bed. This is only to be done if your bed is in the center of a wall. If your bed is located in the corner of the room, place the rug beside it or underneath a piece of furniture. Be sure to have the right sized rug in your room so it isn’t another factor that is taking up limited space.
- Consider storage boxes that can easily slide underneath your bed, storage ottomans that fit at the foot of your bed, and/or custom shelving to hold your items. You could also research different bed brands, as some now come with their own storage space built in.
